In the aftermath of a disaster, many Tennesseans are left struggling to rebuild their homes and their lives. The Tennessee Public Assistance Program is designed to help those who have been affected by a disaster and who have insurance coverage that does not fully cover their losses.
The program provides grants to help with the cost of repairs to homes and businesses, as well as with the cost of temporary housing and other necessary expenses. It also provides loans to help with the cost of rebuilding.
To be eligible for the program, applicants must have been affected by a disaster that occurred on or after January 1, 2016, and must have insurance coverage that does not fully cover their losses. Applicants must also be U.S. citizens or legal residents of the United States.
The program is administered by the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance. For more information, visit the department’s website or call (615) 741-2241.
