When disaster strikes, the Tennessee State Emergency Response Team (SERT) is there to help with the recovery process. SERT is a multi-agency team that coordinates the state’s response to and recovery from major disasters and emergencies.
SERT’s role in disaster recovery is to provide coordination and support to local governments, agencies, and organizations as they respond to and recover from disasters. SERT also works with the federal government and other states to provide assistance when requested.
SERT’s goal is to help Tennessee communities return to normalcy as quickly and safely as possible after a disaster. To do this, SERT provides a variety of services, including:
-Coordinating the state’s response to and recovery from major disasters and emergencies
-Providing support to local governments, agencies, and organizations during disaster response and recovery
-Working with the federal government and other states to provide assistance when requested
-Providing information and resources to the public during disaster response and recovery
