Caring for Your Pets during a Disaster Restoration Process

FacebookFacebookTwitterTwitterEmailEmailShareShare

When your home is being restored after a disaster, it’s important to take care of your pets as well. Here are some tips for caring for your pets during a disaster restoration process:

1. Keep them away from the work area: If possible, keep your pets away from the work area while the restoration is taking place. This will help to minimize their stress and exposure to the noise and activity.

2. Create a safe space: Create a safe space for your pets in another room of the house or in a crate. This will give them a place to retreat to when they need a break from the restoration process.

3. Keep them calm and comfortable: Try to keep your pets as calm and comfortable as possible during the restoration process. This may mean providing them with extra attention and affection.

4. Talk to your restoration company: Be sure to talk to your restoration company about your pets and how to best accommodate them during the restoration process.

5. Have a plan: Have a plan in place in case you need to evacuate your home during the restoration process. This plan should include where you will go and how you will care for your pets.
