A Guide to Tennessee’s Disaster Assistance Programs and Resources

If you live in Tennessee and have been affected by a disaster, there are many state-sponsored programs and resources available to help you recover. The Tennessee Disaster Assistance Program offers financial assistance for temporary housing, home repairs, and other necessary expenses to eligible homeowners and renters who have been displaced by a disaster. The program also provides grants for small businesses and agricultural producers who have suffered economic losses as a result of a disaster.

In addition to financial assistance, the Tennessee Department of Health operates a Disaster Distress Helpline, which provides counseling and support for individuals who are experiencing emotional distress due to a disaster. The helpline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is free of charge.

If you need assistance after a disaster, please contact the Tennessee Disaster Assistance Program at 1-888-282-6023 or visit www.tn.gov/disaster.
